DVS Services

Driver and Vehicle Standards (DVS) is responsible for ensuring the safety, legality, and licensing of drivers and vehicles in Jersey. 

Below you’ll find links to key DVS services, including driving tests, how to report defective vehicles, vehicle registration search tool, and information on various vehicle inspections undertaken by DVS.

Book Your Driving Test

You’ll need your provisional licence and a debit or credit card. Only tests for the vehicle categories shown on your licence can be booked online. 

Some tests, like Island Knowledge and PSV, must be booked in person.

Report Defective Vehicle

Submit the online form to report a vehicle with suspected defects. All information is confidential. 

Please include details like the registration number, make, colour, location, date seen, and the issue.

Vehicle Search Tool

Driver and Vehicle Standards (DVS) offers an online Vehicle Search tool that allows you to check key information held about a vehicle. This includes registration details, make, model, fuel type, engine size, date of first registration, and more.

Vehicle Inspections

Learn about the standards and requirements for vehicle inspections, including the Annual Roadworthiness Inspection, minibus checks, and motorcycle and moped (PTI) inspections.
