Jersey Hosts First TyreSafe Event and Wins 2025 TyreSafe Award

1 July 2025

Last October, Jersey organised the Island’s first TyreSafe Event. The event took place on 7 October at Les Jardins Car Park and on 8 October at Patriotic Street Car Park.

Over the course of two days, free tyre checks were offered to both parked vehicles and to Islanders who drove in specifically for the event.

The event aimed to help Jersey better understand the condition of tyres on the Island’s roads and promote safer driving habits among Islanders, with the help of TAF Tyres, who provided expert tyre maintenance advice during the event.

Key Findings

A total of 246 vehicles were inspected, resulting in 984 tyres being assessed:

  • 76 tyres were found to be below the legal tread depth and required immediate replacement.

  • 83 tyres were near the minimum tread depth and expected to require replacement soon.

  • The remaining tyres were in a safe and roadworthy condition.
