Jersey Driving Theory Test
The mock Jersey driving theory test we offer is designed to prepare you for the official driving theory test. This mock test focuses only on the car and light van theory test.
For information on how to obtain a vehicle licence, please click here.
There is a separate theory test for larger vehicles, including lorries, buses, and coaches. To prepare for this test, the DVSA recommends a specific book on the topic, which can be found here.
Although the motorcycle theory test content differs to address unique aspects of riding, certain questions, such as those on road signs and general highway rules, align with the car and van theory test. Riders can also refer to DVSA-recommended materials, which provide comprehensive coverage of these shared topics alongside motorcycle-specific guidance. These materials can be found here.
Official Driving Theory vs Mock Driving Theory
Official Jersey Driving Theory Test
The Official Jersey Driving Theory Test, administered at the Driving and Vehicle Standards (DVS) agency, is a mandatory first step toward obtaining your driver’s license.
- 50 multiple-choice questions (you need to answer 43 correctly to pass) based on the Highway Code. The questions focus on both the Jersey and UK Highway Code, covering topics such as identifying road signs and markings, understanding traffic laws, and applying safe driving practices.
- 14 hazard perception videos (you need 44 out of 75 points to pass). A developing hazard is something that requires the driver to take action, such as changing speed or direction. One of the videos will contain two hazards. You can score a maximum of 5 points per hazard, depending on how quickly you identify them.

Mock Jersey Driving Theory Test
The Mock Jersey Driving Theory Test, available on this website, is designed to simulate the official test, helping you prepare effectively for the actual exam.
- 20 multiple-choice questions out of a total of 100 different possible questions, it will not feature hazard perception videos.
- The official test requires an 86% success rate, so this test will require you to get 17 out of the 20 questions correctly to pass.
- This test will primarily focus on the theory test for Cars and light vans, it will include questions that are UK specific such as questions around motorways, and Jersey specific questions around filter and turns; this reflects questions that will appear in the official Jersey Driving Theory Test.
